Centerville Schools String Program

Summer Strings will be held June 18-29m, 2007 and include sessions for students 4-12 grade. Each orchestra director has a handout for this event.

 


Cellisimo

Cellisimo has a class for cellists of all ability levels. Held at McCutcheon Studios in Centerville with Leah Jacob instructing. This ensemble opportunity meets twice a week for five weeks with students receiving both small and large group classes. Centerville has many alumni of this program which has been running for many years. Special events this year include Yoga classes and instruction in story telling! Fun fun fun!

Prelude Strings

Prelude Strings hosts both a Junior (4th - 8th grade) and a senior (9th - college) Festival Camp focusing on chamber music with faculty members from the Cincinnati Symphony and the Dayton Philharmonic. Held in Kettering at Christ United Methodist Church.

College of Wooster Music Camp

The week-long camp is typically held in the third week in July, supporting five bands and two orchestras. Each year, over 450 student musicians and 60 staff members from Ohio and the United States come to the Wooster Music Camp; the camp is located on the beautiful College of Wooster campus in Wooster, Ohio.

ASTA / NSOA

OSTA & NSOA Elementary Strings Camp

This enriching camp is for string students in grades 4, 5, and 6 who have been playing for at least 6 months.

There will be full ensemble rehearsals as well as small ensemble technique classes, general music classes, chamber music classes and sectionals of like instruments.

The Ohio State University School of Music
Morning String Student Workshop

Come join us! Over 1,200 students throughout the Central Ohio area have attended the OSU Morning String Student Workshop in the last 20 years. Parents have found it a great way to increase their children's interest and ability in playing string instruments. See you there!

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp

Each summer Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, nestled in the beautiful Manistee National Forest in Michigan's western lower peninsula, welcomes talented young musicians, artists, dancers and actors to experience a time of fun and learning. They come from all parts of the country and all walks of life. 2005 will be Blue Lake's 40th year of providing fine arts instruction through three distinctive programs -- the Summer Camp Program, International Exchange Program and Blue Lake Public Radio.

Boston University Tanglewood Institute

The Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI) is recognized internationally as an outstanding educational opportunity for young artists and is the only program of its kind associated with one of the great symphony orchestras of the world. Here, under the guidance of distinguished professionals and in the presence of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, young people devote themselves each summer to an artistic experience without parallel.

Summer Music Camp

The Indiana University String Academy offers serious young string players an intensive and varied program under the direction of an outstanding faculty at one of the world's most renowned schools of music. We are looking forward to this coming summer which will be filled with practicing, master classes, performances, chamber music and the chamber orchestra. All students participate in two private lessons weekly, chamber music, master classes, and performances. Younger students will play in the chamber orchestra which has planned an exciting program of music.

Interlochen Arts Camp

Interlochen Arts Camp is the world's oldest and most successful fine arts camp for students age 8 to 18, located on a 1,200 acre campus in Interlochen, Michigan, just 16 miles southwest of Traverse City. We offer programs in creative writing, dance, music, theater and visual arts.
